What is Serenity House?
We provide temporary emergency shelter and support services for women and children escaping domestic violence.
What is the average length of stay?
30-45 days
What services do you provide?
Emergency shelter, case management, legal advocacy, counseling services, transportation, assistance in finding employment, assistance with finding safe housing, and more.
How much do your services cost?
All services are free of charge.
How many people can be housed at the shelter?
We currently are a 16-bed facility.
Is the shelter handicap accessible?
Yes, our shelter is handicap accessible.
Do you have a volunteer program?
Due to the delicate nature of the work, volunteer options are limited; however, you can contact the shelter’s director for further information on volunteer opportunities.
Do you accept donations?
Yes, we greatly appreciate donations. Monetary donations can be made via PayPal Giving Fund by clicking “Donate” above, on Facebook by clicking our “Donate” button, or if you prefer to donate via check, please make your check payable to Colquitt County Serenity House Project, Inc., and mail your gift to Colquitt County Serenity House P.O. Box 14 Moultrie, GA 31776.
What type of donations are needed?
Monetary donations/gift cards, hygiene products, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, light bulbs, batteries, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish soap, hand sanitizer, and new or gently used clothing/shoes for women and children.
Where can donations be dropped off?
The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office or the Moultrie-Colquitt Chamber of Commerce. Contact our business line at 229-782-5394 for larger donations.
